<p data-path-to-node="12">But I’m curious: <b data-path-to-node="12" data-index-in-node="17">How much are you actually trusting the bots?</b></p>
<p data-path-to-node="13">I recently tried using an AI agent to plan a 48-hour layover in Tokyo. With the rise of budget airlines and high-speed "budget" trains like <i data-path-to-node="4" data-index-in-node="228">Ouigo</i> or <i data-path-to-node="4" data-index-in-node="237">Italo</i>, the "Global Pass" isn't always the cheapest way to travel. However, for a first-timer, it can still be a lifesaver.</p>
<p data-path-to-node="5"><b data-path-to-node="5" data-index-in-node="0">The "Pass" is worth it if:</b></p>
<ul data-path-to-node="6">
<li>
<p data-path-to-node="6,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="6,0,0" data-index-in-node="0">You crave flexibility:</b> If you want to wake up in Paris and decide on a whim to go to Amsterdam without paying a $200 last-minute ticket fee, the pass is for you.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p data-path-to-node="6,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="6,1,0" data-index-in-node="0">You’re visiting "Expensive" rail countries:</b> If your itinerary includes <b data-path-to-node="6,1,0" data-index-in-node="71">Switzerland, Germany, or Austria</b>, the pass usually pays for itself very quickly.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p data-path-to-node="6,2,0"><b data-path-to-node="6,2,0" data-index-in-node="0">You're under 28:</b> The <b data-path-to-node="6,2,0" data-index-in-node="21">Youth Discount</b> (up to 25% off) makes the math much more attractive.</p>

</ul>
<p data-path-to-node="7"><b data-path-to-node="7" data-index-in-node="0">The "Pass" is NOT worth it if:</b></p>
<ul data-path-to-node="8">
<li>
<p data-path-to-node="8,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="8,0,0" data-index-in-node="0">You have a fixed, slow itinerary:</b> If you're only visiting 2 cities over 10 days, point-to-point tickets booked in advance are almost always cheaper.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p data-path-to-node="8,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="8,1,0" data-index-in-node="0">You're mostly in Spain, Italy, or France:</b> These countries require mandatory <b data-path-to-node="8,1,0" data-index-in-node="76">seat reservation fees</b> (usually €10-€20) even with a pass, which adds up!</p>
</li>
<li>
<p data-path-to-node="8,2,0"><b data-path-to-node="8,2,0" data-index-in-node="0">You love the "Slow Travel" life:</b> Regional trains in places like Poland or Portugal are so cheap that using a "Pass Day" is actually a waste of money.</p>

</ul>
<p data-path-to-node="9"><b data-path-to-node="9" data-index-in-node="0">The 2026 Pro-Tip:</b> Don't forget the <b data-path-to-node="9" data-index-in-node="35">Flexi Pass</b> (e.g., 7 days of travel within 1 month). It’s often the "sweet spot" for travelers who want to stay in each city for a few days but still have the freedom to move between them without stress.</p>
